One way to see the drive for austerity is as an application of a sort of reverse Hippocratic oath: “First, do nothing to mitigate harm”. For the people must suffer if neoliberal reforms are to prosper.
What a great cat toy! My cat would love one just like it. I roll up the hallway runner a little for him sometimes, and he loves diving and hiding underneath.
Ours are getting better about leaving our hallway runner alone - in part because we have a couple of toys (including the new tunnel) that do keep them entertained, and in part because when Wonder's particularly feisty he now prefers to jump at the walls.
