One way to see the drive for austerity is as an application of a sort of reverse Hippocratic oath: “First, do nothing to mitigate harm”. For the people must suffer if neoliberal reforms are to prosper.
These cats look like they are handling the heat of the summer very well and must enjoy the luxury of central air. My guy gets to go out on his leash only after I have watered the backyard to cool it off, and spends most of the day flat out under the ceiling fan or close to the window AC.
Luckily we have good AC here, so they're free to roam as they please. And that generally means toward as much sun as they can find - at least until Wonder overheats.
